How Showdowns work

A claim is selected
Platform administrators or Senior Resolvers nominate a verified Truth as a Showdown candidate. Both sides must have willing participants with 200+ R:IQ in the relevant vertical.

Resolvers stake Ranking Points
Each participant stakes Ranking Points — leaderboard-only points that have no monetary value and cannot be cashed out. Staking signals conviction, not wagering.

Crowd judges accuracy
The public votes on which position was better supported by evidence. A panel of Senior Resolvers provides the final weighted verdict. Winning earns more Ranking Points — and leaderboard position.

Why Ranking Points, not cash?

Cash prediction markets sit in a legal gray zone in many US states — even skill-based ones. Ranking Points are non-monetary by design: no purchase necessary, no monetary consideration, no cash-out path. This keeps Showdowns a pure intellectual contest — and keeps the platform in clean legal territory until applicable law is clearer.

R:IQ is the platform's core reputation currency. Ranking Points are separate — they exist only on the Showdowns leaderboard and have zero effect on bounty eligibility, tier status, or any monetizable feature.

Participation

Who can participate.

R:IQ minimum200+ R:IQ (Resolver tier). Spectators and crowd votes open to all registered users.
KYC verificationNot required to compete — Showdowns are pseudonymous and leaderboard-only (no cash). Identity verification applies only if you later cash out a bounty.
Vertical matchBoth participants must hold verified credentials in the Showdown's vertical.
No political topicsPolitical opinions, election claims, and government policy are excluded from Showdowns.
