For the detail-minded

Payouts & privacy, fully explained.

You never need to verify anything to sign up or take part โ€” that's covered on the Anonymous Resolver overview. This page is for the curious: exactly how you can get paid for a bounty while your real identity stays separate from everything you do here.

When (and whether) KYC happens

KYC is deferred to payout โ€” not signup.

Identity verification is fully separated from participation. You sign up, earn R:IQ, vote, and build your reputation with no KYC at all. Verification runs only the first time you request a cash payout โ€” and if you never withdraw, it never runs.

Your legal identity never touches ReallySolved servers โ€” and most Resolvers, who participate for status rather than money, never trigger KYC at all.

Getting paid

How cash bounties work โ€” and what counts as yours.

Rewards on ReallySolved are R:IQ, status, and badges by default โ€” those are permanent, free, and need no verification. Cash is only ever in the picture when you choose to claim a paid bounty.

A bounty is an award you claim โ€” not a balance we hold

When you win a paid bounty, it becomes an award. It turns into money payable to you only when you actively claim it and complete the one-time verification + tax step described above. Until you claim it, it is not a balance sitting in an account and not a debt we owe โ€” which is exactly what keeps the whole flow private and friction-free.

Unclaimed awards expire after 90 days

If an awarded bounty is never claimed, after 90 days it expires and returns to the community reward pool that funds future Resolvers. This isn't a fee or a clawback of money owed to you โ€” no payable amount exists until you claim โ€” it simply means an unclaimed award flows back to the community. Your R:IQ, badges, and tier standing are never affected; those are yours permanently.

Plain-English summary Sign up and take part with nothing but an email and a pseudonym. The only time identity verification ever happens is the first time you ask to cash out a bounty โ€” and even then your legal name stays with the verification partner, not with ReallySolved. Don't want any of that? Don't withdraw, and you stay fully anonymous.
Capabilities

What Anonymous Resolvers can and cannot do.

Can doCannot do (by design)
โœ“ Sign up and participate with no ID โ€” KYC only at payoutโœ— Withdraw a cash bounty without completing KYC at that point
โœ“ Submit and vote on Truths under a pseudonymโœ— Show verified credentials or a hireable track record to buyers (that's standard Resolver mode)
โœ“ Earn R:IQ and advance through all tiersโœ— Use social login (defeats the anonymity layer)
โœ“ Claim paid bounties (200+ R:IQ)โœ— Access press tier or named media citations
โœ“ Display a verified tier badge on your pseudonym profileโœ— Submit classified or government-restricted information
โœ“ Switch off Anonymous mode later (one-way only โ€” see below)โœ— Revert to Anonymous after switching off
โœ“ Use passkey / WebAuthn (biometric never leaves your device)โœ— Have your legal name stored on ReallySolved servers
Critical disclaimer Anonymous Resolver tier is not whistleblower protection, and it is not a secure channel for sensitive material. Submitting classified or government-restricted information is prohibited by Terms of Service regardless of pseudonym. If you are a whistleblower, consult a qualified attorney before using any platform.

One-way transition out of Anonymous

You may choose to make your verified credentials and track record public โ€” switching off Anonymous mode โ€” at any time. This action is permanent and cannot be undone. Your handle stays the same; what changes is that your credentials and track record become visible so buyers can hire you and you can be cited under your handle. Your legal name is still never published โ€” and it's never disclosed to the companies that engage you. Engagements run through the platform under your handle, and ReallySolved doesn't hold your legal name in the first place. R:IQ earned carries over in full.

FAQ

Common questions.

Do I have to verify my identity to sign up?
No. Signup requires only an email and a pseudonym you choose. You can participate, earn R:IQ, vote, and advance through the tiers with no identity verification at all. KYC happens only the first time you request a cash payout โ€” and if you never withdraw, it never happens. Many Resolvers are here for the status and recognition, not the money, and stay fully anonymous indefinitely.
What happens to a cash bounty I earn but never claim?
Cash bounties are awards you claim, not a balance we hold for you. To receive one you complete a quick verification (KYC) and provide tax details at payout. If an awarded bounty is never claimed, it expires after 90 days and returns to the community reward pool that funds future Resolvers. Your R:IQ, badges, and tier status are never affected โ€” those are yours permanently and require no verification.
Does anonymity affect my R:IQ earning rate?
No. R:IQ earn rates are identical whether or not you stay anonymous, and no one's legal name is ever published either way โ€” citations always use your handle. The only difference is exposure: a standard Resolver shows their verified credentials and track record (and can be cited under their handle); Anonymous Resolvers keep those private and may be cited simply as "a verified Anonymous Resolver."
Can a subpoena or legal process force you to reveal my identity?
ReallySolved does not hold your legal identity โ€” the KYC partner does. A legal process directed at ReallySolved cannot produce information we do not have. A legal process directed at the KYC partner would be governed by their policies and applicable law. We recommend reviewing the KYC partner's privacy policy before applying.
Is biometric data stored anywhere?
No. WebAuthn/passkey enrollment uses device-side biometric โ€” the biometric data never leaves your device. The platform receives only a cryptographic attestation that you are the same person who enrolled the key. This is by design and is not reversible.
Can I have both a Public and an Anonymous account?
No. One account per person is required by the Terms of Service. Maintaining duplicate accounts to circumvent tier requirements or voting rules is a permanent ban.
What happens to my R:IQ and contributions if I switch off Anonymous mode?
All R:IQ, verified contributions, and Resolver tier status carry over fully, and you keep the same handle. What changes is that your verified credentials and track record become visible so buyers can hire you. Your legal name is still never published โ€” and it's never disclosed to the companies that engage you. Engagements run through the platform under your handle, and ReallySolved doesn't hold your legal name in the first place. The transition is permanent.
Does the platform collect IP addresses or device fingerprints?
We collect standard server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and abuse prevention. These are governed by our Privacy Policy. Anonymous Resolver mode does not disable server-side logging; it only prevents your legal name from being stored on our systems.
